Art of War PC

So I decided to make the theme of this PC Mod “Art of War” in homage to the infamous war strategy book by Sun Tzu. This is a picture of the characters that will be etched into the four metal corners of the PC. The metal will be painted black and a red LED light will shine through the cutout characters. In other words it will look frickin’ sweet.

These were hand-drawn by yours truly. I plan on making them a little more artsy and refined before I etch them into the metal, but it’ll do for now. This quote is from Japanese feudal lord Takeda Shingen. These phrases were used to remind his troops on how to conduct battle. They were inspired by Sun Tzu and his great work, The Art of War.

Give me your thoughts, I am always open to comments and suggestions.

Against my better judgement, I upgraded IE on a clients computer to version 8 and was subjected to this screen.

I hate Microsoft… so much…

3D Rendering Completed

Check out the finished 3D rendering of the computer.

Looks pretty sweet huh? This is the first step for coming up with a design.

I know the theme of the computer is going to be the Chinese number 9. Here’s what that looks like:

I like dark-themed computers. I don’t like neon green lights, so I think it’s going to be black and red. To me, that just seems like really cool colors for an awesome computer like this one will be.

I bought my Dremel tool, so I’m getting really excited about this.

I have lots of ideas, so it’s time to brain storm and see what comes of it.

Summer Project

Well, this promises to be an interesting summer, and here’s why.

I bought this junk computer off a lady here in town and am going to turn it into a monstosity, in the good way that is.

I really want to take advantage of the computing power that is available with Intel’s new i7 chip. Plus I haven’t built a liquid cooled machine in a while, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Check out this monster tower.

Before

This is a Gateway 2000 P5-120. Anyone remember these? Anyone still HAVE one of these?

Pretty awesome case with LOTS of potential.

Here’s the stuff that was in it:

Including an EIDE controller!?!?!

So, I have some awesome ideas for this tower and what will go in it and some ideas for the design. Anyone care to share theirs?
